The Kansas Speech Communication Association was founded in 1939 as the State Association of Speech in Kansas. From its early roots the KSCA has grown into a responsive organization of professionals interested and engaged in the art of effective communication.
The membership of the KSCA consists of K-12 educators and coaches, community college and university faculty, theatre arts practitioners, and college students in the field of communication.
The KSCA is active in its support of high school activities, teacher certification and licensure, curricular concerns, speaking and listening assessments, as well as other communication related issues.
